PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor Course
Emergency oxygen is the single most critical primary first-aid treatment for decompression illness, near-drowning, and lung overexpansion injuries. As a PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor, you will gain the authority to train both divers and non-divers in the proper application and safe handling of emergency oxygen equipment. This includes boat captains, resort staff, lifeguards, student divers taking Rescue Diver course, scientific divers, regular divers and family members.
Why Add This Teaching Specialty?
- No Diving Prerequisites for Students: Expand your audience beyond certified divers to include boat crews and non-diving staff, reinforcing a culture of safety throughout your local dive community.
- Easy Course Bundling: Seamlessly integrate this specialty into your Rescue Diver, Divemaster, or Emergency First Response (EFR) training packages.
- Non-Diving Specialty: Can be taught anywhere, such as in a classroom, dive center, or aboard a dive vessel, making it an adaptable income stream regardless of weather conditions.
What You Will Learn?
Under the direct guidance of PADI Course Director Ying Kai, you will master the pedagogical methods required to teach this course safely and effectively. Training focuses on two core areas:
- Knowledge Development: Understanding oxygen administration protocols, physiological benefits (such as bubble reduction and tissue oxygenation), risk management, and structuring classroom sessions.
- Practical Application: Developing demonstration-quality mastery in assembling, disassembling, and maintaining demand valves, continuous-flow systems, non-rebreather masks, and pocket masks with oxygen inlets.
