ART/ST Records began when Charlyn discovered an old cassette tape belonging to her late grandfather. Wanting to turn those fading memories into something tangible—rather than letting them get lost in the cloud—she searched for a way to immortalize his voice.

The Craft
That search repeatedly led her to custom vinyl. Along the way, she made a striking discovery: Singapore once had a rich record-manufacturing history, yet no one was making them locally anymore.
Driven to revive Singapore’s lost history of record-making and learn a dying craft, she tracked down a vintage 1940s mono lathe-cutting machine from the US in 2015 and has been making records ever since.

The Art
While Charlyn cuts the sound, co-founder Lee Sin Yee breathes visual life into every record. Through custom artwork, hand-drawn illustrations, and thoughtful visual storytelling, she ensures every record looks as meaningful as it sounds—turning each piece into a physical keepsake.
